This slow cooker is multi-functional and so easy to use. I have used the bottom part as a small griddle many times. The cooker can be used for many things and it is so easy to cook with. I love west bend products.

This is my second oval shaped West Bend Slo Cooker and I like it too. . . . . . except maybe for the lid which does not seem to be as sturdy or as good as my old lid. . . . . but the good news is. . . . . my old lid fits the new cooker just perfect. . . . well almost perfect. . . . . good enough though. . . . . and my old lid actually fits the new pot better than the new lid that came with it. . . . . . and my old oval shaped pot also fits the new heater base too. . . . . I'm happy. . . . .

As I told the woman when I called the 800 # about the product received, I was not impressed with the quality of this slow cooker. It looks very cheaply made even tho it isn't cheap. I've had 3 other West Bend slow cookers and have been happy with all of them but not this one so I returned it and went to a hardware store to buy a different one.

I own an older version of this. I bought it in 1995. It is a 300 watt as opposed to the 225 watts this one has.

Mine has a glass lid that doubles as a 2 quart casserole. These latest models all seem to have handles. I think mine is a 4 quart.

These are absoutely the BEST slow cookers. They're so versatile and stand up really well.

I'm not even close to being ready to buy a new one. Yes, the non-stick does scratch. . . all non-stick gets wrecked eventually. I would love it if they sold a model without non-stick. I dislike that stuff. One thing I wish it had is an off switch. I don't like only being able to turn it off by unplugging it.

If these newer models are as good as the old ones, I highly recommend you consider buying this before looking at other 'sexier' brands.

I paid around $35 for mine 13 years ago. I'd say I got more than my money's worth.
