I got back to basics stainless steel stove popcorn as a Christmas gift from my husband. I used it twice already and both times, all but two hearts on the popcorn. Popcorn is not difficult and it is very tasty, but with lots of butter. The recipe I used is as follows: 3 c. soup.
2 v. tablespoons peanut oil.
butter 1 / 2 tsp Popcorn
popcorn salt Heat the oil in the popper over with. high heat, then add the butter and popcorn. Lightweight grain popcorn salt layer. Stir until popping is almost done and pour into a bowl and enjoy.

Popper is one that I would have bought it at first. I chose the least expensive at first, but the switch from plastic to turn the handle and the internal rotary vane was dismantled. The heat and the plastic is not a compatible combination. Back to the basic version has a Metal Gear, which Popper makes this worth a few dollars more.

I thought it would be a good replacement for our aluminum whirly Popper, one of my children who are released when they moved. Alas, I was very disappointed. The lid is not absolutely be ruled out, despite all sorts of adjustment attempts. We must learn to turn the stirrer “with one hand and hold the handle (longer keep the lid closed) with another hand. In addition, it is slower to warm up and weigh much more than my old whirly. Finally, I had several parts riveted fall and wooden buttons in two parts. All this with relatively light use.
So. . . . I just returned from aluminum and the order of good ole “Whirley again.

Better than the Whirley Pop. I chose this popper for two reasons. 1) A number of reviews I read warned of plastic gears on the lid broke. Tool for this is a metal. 2) This is stainless steel and not aluminum (as opposed to Whirley POPs). And yes, it is a concern. There are numerous studies between aluminum and Alzheimer’s disease and other neuropathic disorders. Remember that many many grains of popcorn scrape the bottom of the pan, rub away aluminum particles continuously for 3-5 minutes each time you use Popper. What can rub the track, but he adds after a while. Even if you do not believe or do not continue to read, is it really worth the risk? Especially since there is another option available? Go to Back to Basics Stailess Popper Steel.
In addition, it is great popcorn. If the comments of others have not convinced you, I hope this will. Many have said that this type of popcorn Popper that tastes “the same” as the movie popcorn. I would not say, but it is just as good or better than popcorn movie – just another asset. The crispy, fluffy texture of corn stuffed is what makes it sooo wonderful. I find it hard to stop. I’m just crisp. and creaking. and creaking. . .
Another thing that makes him so great is the possibility of adding oil and salt to taste while cooking. You can also add other spices / seasonings. You can do as you wish. With airpoppers you need to add oil and salt or spices after cooking, which often makes defluff corn or just appear in bold, and the salt does not stick as well, especially if you try to go low in fat. Besides the fact that it is juicy and fun to eat, one of the big draws of popcorn is that (possibly) a healthy snack – if you go low in salt and fat. Since you can adjust the amounts of “bad things, you add that Popper is an excellent way to balance health with taste. Normally I use a tablespoon of light oil and a light 1 / 2 teaspoon salt 1 / 2 cup of grain. You can use less of both, depending on your thoughts. What you get by 1 / 2 cup almonds (without salt or oil ) (approx.): high in fiber (7g), low in calories (194 calories), low fat (2nd 3G) snacks, which also has a variety of vitamins and minerals to boot. The vast majority of calories complex carbohydrates (good carbohydrates) and very few come from sugar. But remember that many people only eat half in one sitting.
To answer some negative comments in other studies, it is true that the lid is a little tricky to get on / on site, but it is not so bad, really. Rather than the two other house without a soul with your arm It will take 30 seconds both hands, and little attention to what you do. You set the pot in one hand, the heart of a small hole and push the fastener in place on the other face with your other hand. Also, keep in mind that you do not really need to clean (or head) every time you use it (oil is reusable, not that there will much left in the pan). We use our regular Popper, so he stays on the stove, and I just cleaned after every three uses. It may be imagination, but I think the “between” parties are really tasty.
When the lid does not stay closed, I have not had that problem with mine. It is not air tight – and n is not supposed to be. Therefore, there is little ventilation channels throughout the coverage. The lid does not stay up, but do not worry – this is the POP corn can come flying out of pot or something else. My advice is, first, to check the seller ratings here on the site. Make sure you can return the product and have a positive history of dealing with returns. Then, when you have your Popper check its operation before using it to make sure everything is in working order. It’s just common sense. Chances are, you will not get a defective one. Remember, they sell hundreds of these things. Those who wrote in is probably the only song, just unfortunate. Look at how many positive comments here.
Bottom line? This cheap Popper makes great popcorn, and you can animate your tastes and preferences. You’ll love it!

Popper This is a great alternative to the Pop Whirley (which is 100% aluminum) and VOC emissions ubiquitous microwave bags. I received a Whirley Pop for the holidays and returned immediately to get back to this basic model, because it is stainless steel and metal gears instead of those cheap plastic.
This unit is easy to use, and it appears almost all the kernels (unpopped only 5-10 per batch). Popcorn sharpness and the taste is unbeatable. I put 1-2 tablespoons of oil in Popper and then add the popcorn and start to turn the page. It still runs perfect. Lately, I have been adding 1-2 v. tablespoons of sugar to the kettle corn, and it’s just like in real life that you buy at the show!
What do other commentators on some ill-fitting lid, and the difficulty of correctly reassemble, for which I take a star from my rating. One side of my lid is opened approximately 5 mm – not enough for something to come flying, luckily. After washing the lid, you need a firm hand and a little finagling to get it back, but trust, it will focus. About Back to Basics could design a better-fitting lids, Popper would be 5 stars.
